We ended up cutting a few kilometers off of today by stopping in Villatuerta rather than going on to Estella. Estella is the normal stopping point, and while it would have been great to catch our friends there, it was a better decision considering morale (mine) was so low.
It's been a hard few days because I haven't yet been able to bounce back. Every time I've gone to bed, I've told myself, "tomorrow will be the day I wake up and feel great" only to not be able to move my legs from my knee pain. It had subsided some. Yesterday morning, I almost couldn't walk with knee braces on. I'm at a point now where I can bend my knees to walk (rather than walking like a toy soldier), but my feet have also erupted with blisters.
The lady at the albergue said that the state of our feet reflect the state of our minds. In that case, my mind is pretty messed up to say the least. However, we also met a lady today who told us that in regards to the Camino, they say that from France to Burgos is hell, from Burgos to Leon is purgatory and Leon to Santiago is heaven.

Hoy cortamos unos kilómetros cuando nos paramos en Villatuerta y no Estella. Normalmente, se para en Estella, y aunque hubiera sido lindo encontramos con nuestros amigos allí, para nosotros, era mejor aquí.
Han sido unos días difíciles porque aún no he recuperado por completo. Cada vez que me he acostado, me he dicho, «mañana voy a amanecer curada y me sentiré increíble», pero no ha sido el caso porque he amanecido sin poder mover la rodilla. Por lo menos, he curado un poco. Ayer, ni podia moverme con el aparato en la rodilla, y ahora si puedo moverme sin parecer un jugete de soldado, pero estoy llena de ampollas.
La señora de nuestro albergue nos dijo que las condición de nuestros pies es reflejo de la condición de nuestra mente. En ese caso, mi mente tiene muchas problemas. Pero, también conocimos una mujer que nos dijo que hay un dicho en el camino que de Francia a Burgos es el infierno, de Burgos a León, es el purgatorio y de León a Santiago es el cielo.
