Well, aren't I embarrassed...
After nearly three months, I’ve finally given myself the time to re-read and proof-read my summer entries. How embarrassing. I apologize for all the typos (which have now been corrected). I suppose that’s the risk I took when updating my blog by cellphone. Autocorrect had a grand old time changing words on me.
It’s fun to read everything in retrospect, especially the Camino. My feet have nearly fully healed. I still have a toenail that is waiting to fall off, so that should be gone and replaced within a month. It’s funny to read everything and find the stories that I shared and those I didn’t share. Many of the best stories occurred after I posted. If readership demands, I can gladly post in retrospect.
So life update, I arrived back in the States and waited patiently to see the return of my boyfriend. While I was off gallivanting across Europe and Brazil, he was riding a bike across the US and Canada from Austin to Anchorage. (No joke, college students ride bikes to fight cancer. This organization is real). All of August and September and the beginning of October was a slow decline in morale and personal hygiene (sort of joking) as I applied and applied and applied for jobs. I am now VERY happy to say I am officially employed and start at the end of the month with an organization that is pushing India closer to the top of my travel list.
Hopefully as real life starts again, I'll post a little more frequently, even if it's from the boring confines of my apartment rather than from an exotic location (for now.) If I can't travel abroad, I can always travel local, right?
Pues que pena…
Después de casi tres meses, finalmente me di tiempo para leer y corregir todo lo que escribí este verano. Que pena…discúlpenme por todos los errores (que ya he corregido, ojalá). Supongo que eso es el riesgo que tomo cuando subo a mi blog por celular. Me corrige todo y cambia algunas palabras.
Me dio gusto leer todo ya que pasó, especialmente lo de mi Camino. Mis pies están casi completos de nuevo, aunque aún me queda una uña de pie por caer. Creo que dentro de un mes, ya se me cae y tengo el remplazo. Es chistoso leer todas las historias que compartir y recordar las que no compartí. Muchas de las mejores historias ocurrieron después de que yo subí mi entrada. Si lo exigen, puedo subir más historias.
Pues ya a la vida reciente. Regresé a los Estados Unidos y esperé al regreso de mi novio. Mientras yo estuve a pata de perro por Europa y Brasil, él estuvo en bicicleta cruzando los Estados Unidos y Canadá en camino de Austin a Anchorage. (No estoy bromeando. Estos estudiantes universitarios van en bicicleta para luchar contra el cáncer. Esta organización existe). Todo agosto y septiembre y el comienzo de octubre era una caída de ánimo e higiene (estoy bromeando un poco) mientras mandaba solicitud tras solicitud de empleo. Ahora estoy MUY orgullosa en decir que ya tengo empleo y comienzo al final del mes con una organización que me hace subir India más y más alto en mi lista de viajes.
Ojalá ya que empieza la vida real, puedo subir algo un poco más seguido, aunque sea de mi departamento y no un lugar exótico (por ahora). Si no puedo viajar al extranjero, siempre se puede viajar local, verdad?
