Short one today because it's late and I wake up early.
First day of communications training! I'm assigned to work with the press office, so we had general training in the morning and general training in or specific sector in the afternoon. It seems that the whole World Youth Day, I'll be working out of the Media Center on Copacabana.
After training, we took a stroll along the beach from one end to the other and did some people watching. Brazilian bikinis are an actual thing. We also saw the stage getting set up for the main events on Copacabana!
I broke street rules today: 1. I ate street food. It was a tapioca churro (?) With cheese and dulce de leche. It was delicious and I don't regret it. There is no picture because it's in my belly. 2. I took a picture at night on the street.
I also bought new shoes today. This might be a curse. My job requires closed toe shoes, and well, all I brought were sandals (I'm in Brazil, aren't I?) Anyway, they weren't as expensive as my Keens were (thank goodness) and should do the job just fine.
Tomorrow is a touristy day, so hopefully many pictures!
Hoy es corto porque ya es tarde y me levanto temprano.
¡Primer día de entrenamiento en comunicaciones! Me tienen trabajando con la prensa, entonces tuvimos entrenamiento general por la mañana y más específico por la tarde. Parece que por toda la jornada, trabajaré en el Centro de Medios en Copacabana.
Después del entrenamiento, parados por la plata de un lado al otro viendo la gente. Bikinis brasileños si existen. También vimos el escenario para los eventos en Copacabana.
Rompí reglas de la calle hoy: 1. Comí comida de la calle. Era un tapioca churro (¿?) con queso y dulce de leche. No me arrepiento de nada. No hay foto porque está en mi panza. 2. Tomé foto en la noche en plena calle.
También compré zapatos nuevos. Puede ser que ya es mala suerte. Mi trabajo requiere zapatos cerrados, y pues solo traje sandalias (pues, estoy en Brasil). De todos modos, no eran tan caros como los Keens (gracias a Dios) y deben funcionar perfectamente.
Mañana es día algo turístico, así que ojalá y tendré fotos!
